It’s been a long time coming

Her name means Precious Star

This is my beautiful grand-daughter, Tehya Star.  She was welcomed to Mother Earth December 2, 2009

Being a Nanny is such a blessing, a wonderful gift, and I am so grateful to experience this part of my journey. My journey is absolutely amazing.  I must say that a good part of my life has been like a dream.  I awoke from the dream some twenty-five odd years ago into a haze.  As I moved deeper into the haze, the haze began to dissolve, and vanish!

What took me deep into my haze was having my son.   I was a single mum for some of the time of my son’s early years and experienced ‘unknown fear’ a lot of the time. I raised my son the best way that I knew how.

As I was deep in my dream of life, something very extraordinary happened to me one day, I  had a realisation.  I realised that I was becoming my mother.  (Blessings to my mother whom I love and am very grateful for all the lessons).  One single moment is all it took,  I saw myself and didn’t like what I witnessed, there was no blame, I simply saw myself.  I made a conscious decision at that moment.  I had to change.  I needed to awaken.

All sorts of books began coming my way.  It’s just great how the Universe works, I love it!  I read lots of books, began meditation and attended interesting courses.  I  did a diploma in remedial massage, I learned a lot about the body and enjoyed all this wonderful new knowledge.  Two key pivotal points came from that course,  I became a vegetarian and I was re introduced to yoga.  I had only ever done one yoga class in my life, and that was long forgotten.

Knowledge continues to enter my cup.  Knowledge is what began to dissolve the haze.  As my yoga practice deepened and I began to live the knowledge, the haze vanished.

Now with Tehya in my life, I cannot help but constantly review my past in the present moment.  I am so grateful to witness my son be a ‘dad’ and so blessed to have a beautiful daughter in-law.

My lessons continue without a doubt,  knowing it is all part of this journey makes it easier to bless.  I have a yoga student who says that she is looking forward to getting older, as she relates age to wisdom.  I can now relate to that as I approach my 6th decade.

I love my life, I truly do.  I love what I do.  I love to guide the yoga students who want to be guided.  I love to observe myself in others, and I can honestly say that I am truly surrounded by people I love. Thank you Universe.

Farewell to Studio

Studio 7

Namaste/Sat Nam

Friday October 9 was the official last night at the studio and was celebrated with the Kundalini Yoga Kriya of  Wahe Guru.  Healing to the vibration of the Gong and the beautiful Healing Circle with Ra Ma Da Sa, Sa Say So Hung. The closure to the space was very sacred and filled with gratitude.

The evening was completed with a divine supper.  Students brought in  delicious food which accompanied lots of chatter and good fun.

Students took home butterflies,  lanterns  or  verses of wisdom from the studio as a treasure holding the beautiful energy of all the yoga, chanting and meditations held over the past seven years. Oh what a blessing to have farewelled the studio with such beautiful people.  Thankyou.

The evening cost was by donation.  Please read below to view the response to the donation.

 12 October 2009

Thank you for your generous donation of $266.00 on behalf of Yoga with Mary-Anne.  Your generosity will enable us to remain committed to our vision and mission. It would not be possible for Barnardos to address the issues of childhood neglect and abuse without your loyalty. For this we send you our heartfelt thanks.

Together as a community we can contribute to providing answers that solve problems, not just for each individual child, but for all Australian children.

At Barnardos we believe all children deserve a safe and caring family where their voices are not ignored. Your support will help children just like Molly believe it too.

Sincerely,
Barnardos Australia

The new adventures now begin.  Thank you all for your support.  Blessings to you all. Love and Light xxxxx

The Times they are a Changin’

The Universe has created a huge change into my daily routine.  The space that I have had for the past seven years can no longer be used as Prema Yoga Studio.  The space will shift from Sue’s business and serve in a different way.

I will be a bit of a gypsy for the next twelve months and be teaching from different venues.

Please check my web page www.yogawithmaryanne.com  for temporary updates with new locations and times.

I know and trust that the Universe has a grand plan for me  and I simply ask “HOW MAY I SERVE?” .  Opportunities will arise and choices will be made so that I can create a new ‘yoga space’ at one location and a new ‘Prema Yoga Studio’ will emerge.

Impermanence is the way of the Universe.   To flow with change easily and effortlessly allows me to feel at peace and have clarity through this time.  I feel very liberated and free with this change.

Please check my webpage and blog over the next couple of weeks for regular updates.

Recipe by Yogi Bhajan

Yogi Bhajan’s May Clove Recipe
For the month of May ONLY

( May is autumn here in Australia and it will work just as well during this time leading to our winter)

You may have heard that it’s flu season-okay, that’s an understatement given the news this week.  Spring is often a time of cleansing and processing, which in turn makes one more vulnerable to colds and flu.  Here’s a reminder from Gurusahay Singh Khalsa, D.C., about a remedy Yogi Bhajan taught exclusively for the month of May.

Take a handful of cloves and soak them in room temperature water overnight-no need to boil.  First thing in the morning, when you brush your teeth, take 3-4 tablespoons of the clove water (not more then 5-don’t overdo it.), swish it around in your mouth and then swallow.

For convenience, you can make enough for three of four days and keep it in the refrigerator.  For best results, take some every day throughout the month of May.

“It will save you from a lot of viral diseases.  The month of May breeds viruses.  Your ears, nose and throat will all be all right.  Symptoms will almost not appear.  If you do it every year, you will never fall apart” -Yogi Bhajan

More about Sadhana

Sadhana
Sadhana

Japji is recited at the beginning of Sadhana, so what is Japji?

Japji is a Universal song of God consciousness composed by Guru Nanak.  Japji uses the technology of  Naad Yoga, the science of the sound current.  Reciting the words of Japji, which speak of that which is beyong words to express, serves to bring the frequency of Infinity into your life.

Japji is a tool designed to deliver a human being into excellence.  Japji is a teacher for anyone seeking truth.  The sound current of Japji and the meaning of its words, when meditated upon with openess and love, awakens a soul to it’s destiny.

Step by step, Japji gives you the comprehensive power to know yourself as you are and be with God’s creation in a spirit of joyful surrender.

Repeating the entire Japji adjusts all the elements in all the chakras and gives you a complete tune up in your entire subltle and physical bodies.
