(Editor’s Note: Want to clear your magnetic field? I found this great explanation of the “yogic shake”, which is when we shake out our entire body after a meditation, and its practical application in every day life, in Gurutej Khalsa’s book “Slice of the Beloved: Yoga for Couples”. )
Excerpt from A Slice of the Beloved by Gurutej Khalsa:
“Yogic Shake:
Everybody is surrounded by a magnetic field. We gather, exchange and attract all sorts of energy throughout our day, unaware of just how powerful and influential that energy is. When we return home in the evening, we tend to bring a certain amount of dissonance with us. By doing the shake, we disperse the dust of the day in just the same way that airing the linen, shaking the rug, or plumping the pillows does. This exercise is a people plumper in a real and wonderful way. Before you leave your work space or place do something to change your energy shake your hands as if they’re dripping wet and you’re air-drying them. Keep shaking them all around your body for as long as you can (up to three minutes), snapping all the negative energy out from your wrist to your fingertips and changing the energy in your magnetic field. When you stop, your hands will tingle and feel refreshed. You can simultaneously shake your entire body. This is an excellent way to shake off the energy of the day.”

What is MTHFR Gene Mutation?

I personally have the mutation C677T.. basically I received the mutation from both parents.. mother & father which labels the body as Homozygous…
back in 2013 my therapist Dr Rochelle Moat requested that I have this blood test to determine whether I had this gene mutation as my health would not stabilise nor improve…. I took the request to my GP, she got angry that I asked to have this blood test(that’s another story). The blood test came back positive to the 677 gene mutation
….. Knowing My body carried the MTHFR gene mutation changed my healing process in such a way that only brings gratitude and compassion to myself, my healers, and to all those with this mutation.. my life is still a challenge, but it’s now a manageable challenge… along with my yoga practice I can truly say that not one thing will heal the emotional and physical body, it’s definitely a wholistic journey… one of Yogi Bhajan ‘s quotes

I came across this not too complicated article and thought I’d publish it..
I Have spoken to many students about the challenges I face and I’m never too sure if my explanation helps individuals understand what this mutation is all about, so when I read this article I thought it not to be too complicated and hard to understand, hence this post….it might open some people up to learn about a common gene mutation that affects our health in many ways and often not identified.

Sa Ta Na Ma Kriya to Change the Spinal Fluid and Gray Matter of the Brain

This is a totally complete physical movement. Your body will freak out. Let the hands and navel dance, see how young you will become. Never practice this meditation for more than 11 minutes. After 5 to 7 minutes it will change the spinal serum and grey matter of the brain.

Posture: Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine, and a light Neck Lock. Bring the arms in front of the body. Bend the elbows to form 2 right angles held up at chest level. Rest the right hand and forearm on top of the left.

Mantra: Chant Sa Ta Na Ma in a strong whisper.

Movement: Begin moving the arms up and down as a unit, quick pulses, approximately 3 inches of movement. With each sound of the mantra move the arms down and pull the navel in simultaneously. The repetition of the mantra and the movement of the arms and the navel should all be in sync. Move in a quick and coordinated dance of the arms and navel with power. Move fast and use force.

Time: Continue for 5 – 7 minutes. Do not practice for more than 11 minutes.

To End: Inhale deeply, exhale and relax.
