It’s been a long time coming

Her name means Precious Star

This is my beautiful grand-daughter, Tehya Star.  She was welcomed to Mother Earth December 2, 2009

Being a Nanny is such a blessing, a wonderful gift, and I am so grateful to experience this part of my journey. My journey is absolutely amazing.  I must say that a good part of my life has been like a dream.  I awoke from the dream some twenty-five odd years ago into a haze.  As I moved deeper into the haze, the haze began to dissolve, and vanish!

What took me deep into my haze was having my son.   I was a single mum for some of the time of my son’s early years and experienced ‘unknown fear’ a lot of the time. I raised my son the best way that I knew how.

As I was deep in my dream of life, something very extraordinary happened to me one day, I  had a realisation.  I realised that I was becoming my mother.  (Blessings to my mother whom I love and am very grateful for all the lessons).  One single moment is all it took,  I saw myself and didn’t like what I witnessed, there was no blame, I simply saw myself.  I made a conscious decision at that moment.  I had to change.  I needed to awaken.

All sorts of books began coming my way.  It’s just great how the Universe works, I love it!  I read lots of books, began meditation and attended interesting courses.  I  did a diploma in remedial massage, I learned a lot about the body and enjoyed all this wonderful new knowledge.  Two key pivotal points came from that course,  I became a vegetarian and I was re introduced to yoga.  I had only ever done one yoga class in my life, and that was long forgotten.

Knowledge continues to enter my cup.  Knowledge is what began to dissolve the haze.  As my yoga practice deepened and I began to live the knowledge, the haze vanished.

Now with Tehya in my life, I cannot help but constantly review my past in the present moment.  I am so grateful to witness my son be a ‘dad’ and so blessed to have a beautiful daughter in-law.

My lessons continue without a doubt,  knowing it is all part of this journey makes it easier to bless.  I have a yoga student who says that she is looking forward to getting older, as she relates age to wisdom.  I can now relate to that as I approach my 6th decade.

I love my life, I truly do.  I love what I do.  I love to guide the yoga students who want to be guided.  I love to observe myself in others, and I can honestly say that I am truly surrounded by people I love. Thank you Universe.
